Now it's Easy to See the Light. Or Not.
Designed to effectively control light, heat and noise coming into your home, Hunter Douglas Heritance Hardwood Shutters are easily adjustable with one simple movement. You can relax in the privacy of a dimly lit room.or enjoy whatever amount of light and view you wish. Just follow these instructions:
To open and close the louvers on your shutters, simply grasp one of the louvers and tilt it to the preferred angle. The tilt bar, located on the front of the shutter panel, will coordinate the synchronized movement of all the louvers. To ensure the long life of your shutters, the tilt bar should not be used to manipulate the up and down movement of the louvers.
When the tilt bar is in the upward position and the louvers are closed, you are assured of the tightest seal, preventing unwanted incoming light that can heat up your room and damage furniture and floor coverings. To protect the fine wood finish from scratches, dirt and grease, use care when handling your shutters.
To open panels, first open the louvers and grasp the stile where the two panels meet and pull gently. Always open the right panel first. On large panels, you may need to do this near the top and bottom of each panel to release the hidden magnets. On single panels, pull on the stile opposite the hinge.
Your Heritance hardwood shutters are custom crafted to last a lifetime. Should they become damaged, contact your dealer so a professional installer can make the repairs. Because your new investment is a valuable one, Hunter Douglas has issued you a distinctive serial number inscribed on the authenticity plate located inside one of your shutter panels.
So Simple to Care for They Practically Clean Themselves
Very little maintenance is required to keep your Hunter Douglas Heritance Hardwood Shutters looking beautiful and performing their best for a lifetime. Like any wood furnishings, though, use care when handling and dust periodically to keep them looking new year after year.
For best results, open the shutter panel so you have complete access to both sides of the panel. With the panel open, tilt the louvers to their full upward closure, then clean using a dry and soft feather duster, clean cloth, dust cloth or dusting mitt. Reverse the louver direction and repeat to ensure that both sides of the shutter panel are cleaned.
Heritance Hardwood Shutters may also be vacuumed with the brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner utilizing the procedure described above. However, Hunter Douglas does not recommend ultrasonic cleaning or the use of chemical solvents and scrubbing cleansers. As with any durable fine wood product, protect your shutters from exposure to steam, rain or outside irrigation systems to ensure their long life.
